The Passing of Past District 8 Governor Nancy Jones
Nancy Lee Jones
Nancy Lee Jones, DTM, died Thursday, September 10, 2015. Nancy was active in Toastmasters for many years, as a member, club and district offices. She was District 8 governor in 2004-2005. Nancy had an indelibly positive attitude, and always encouraged others to ‘move outside their comfort zone’. She had a marvelous way of getting the newest members involved in all activities.
Nancy is missed and mourned by the family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her unique blend of kindness, caring and humor. She is survived by three younger brothers and their families – Scott and Neva Jones and their daughter Emma; Eric and Jeannie Jones and their children Erica, Brandon and Matthew; and Brooks Jones. Friends and family shared memories Sunday afternoon, September 13, at the Crestview Senior Living Center where Nancy had been a resident the last few years. As one friend put it – ‘Nancy didn’t just see the glass as half-full – it was brimming over!’
None of us will forget her kindness, generosity and joy in living. In accordance with her wishes, the family has donated her body to Washington University.
Her last gift was to advance the art of healing and help others to live.
